Dr. John Robbins

Dr. John Robbins is an Investment Advisor at Hoopoe Advisors, where he is responsible for providing wealth management and investment advice to clients.

Dr. John Robbins joins Hoopoe following over two decades of executive leadership in the nonprofit and academic sectors. Most recently, he served as CEO of Penny Appeal USA, an international relief and development NGO focusing on economic sustainability. Previously, he founded and led the Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the largest Muslim civil rights organization in the United States. Since 2020 he’s also held joint positions as Social Impact Advisor and Innovation Fellow at the Harvard Innovation Labs within the Harvard Business School.

Dr. Robbins holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, having also studied at Swarthmore College and Oxford University, and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Tufts University. He lives in Yorba Linda, California with his wife and two young daughters.
